6 Years Later

Chalk this up to determination, or whatever you will, but this orchid hasn’t flowered for six (6!) years. I told Kathy to give up on it. In fact, she did – when we returned from Longwood Gardens this winter, she said loud and clear, the orchid only has 3 months until she’s throwing it away.

She watered it, watched it root, made sure it got the right amount of sun. For six years.

Total Customization – Pontiac G6 Convertible

This was a ton of fun – the car was originally a Pontiac G6. The owner brought it to his body shop and said, “I hate everything about it. Make it better.”

They completely customized the front, rear, hood, and sides. The headlights are aftermarket as are the wheels.

Spring In The Backyard

We’ve been waiting a while, so it was worth the couple minutes in the garden. Tulips, Japanese Painted ferns, hostas, and even the dreaded dandelion make appearances.

Red Lion vs. Spring Grove HS Lacrosse

The last one was snow, this one was fog and rain. Visiting Spring Grove won both varsity and JV games, the latter by 1 after Red Lion held a 5-1 lead.

Philadelphia Phoenix Practice

There are now two professional Ultimate leagues: MLU (Major League Ultimate) and the AUDL (American Ultimate Disc League). The AUDL had some well-documented issues last year which led the Philadelphia Spinners to leave the league and start the MLU.

So Philly now has two professional teams: the Spinners in the MLU and now the Phoenix in the AUDL. For Ultimate fans, especially those of us out here in the western Philly burbs, this is good news for watching high-quality games since the Phoenix play at Cheney University in West Chester.

I had a great talk about Ultimate and photography with both their coach and also with the owner of the Phoenix, so hopefully we’ll be able to cover their games this year. It’s an exciting time to be an Ultimate fan!

I ran out of light for the best plays, but was able to grab some cool shots during the drills.

Welcome Home Sergeant Sean Petrondi, U.S. Army

I couldn’t miss this one if I tried – the Warriors’ Watch and A Hero’s Welcome did a ‘mug & hug’ for Sgt. Sean Petrondi in West Chester, to his Aunt’s house across the street from mine.

Neighbors and friends were on hand to see the Police, Fire Department, and of course Warriors’ Watch and A Hero’s Welcome greet Sgt. Petrondi back from Afghanistan on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Welcome Home Lieutenant Shane Clair, U.S. Army

I was honored to be part of the Warriors’ Watch/A Hero’s Welcome escort for First Lieutenant Shane Clair of West Chester. Returning from Afghanistan, Lt. Clair is a Bronze Star recipient and a large contingent of family and friends welcomed him late last night.

Welcome home, Lt. Clair, and thank you for your service! (If you’d like to join us on future welcomes, sign up on the WWR Forums.)

While we were waiting for Lt. Clair, there were two other families waiting as well. We welcomed them home in our typical mug & hug style. Some additional pics are below!

1963 Pontiac Tempest LeMans

This car is really nice even if you don’t notice how immaculately it was restored. This AutoChromatica photo shoot is for a Pontiac enthusiast event, where they are celebrating the 50th anniversary of this model by putting my 3/4 shot on the commemorative giveaways.

Instead of flashes, I used one of the paint booth lights.
