Colvin & Blake June 2019

Posted on June 19, 2019June 19, 2019

I took advantage of the last sunny forecast for a few days by hiking Colvin & Blake, two peaks which aren’t known for their views. As always, Colvin proved to be quite nice but Blake is just…Blake.

There was very little (wet) mud, and only the early stages of bugs. I made it out with only about 20 bites from the tiny little flies, no mosquitoes or big flies yet. I predict July will be brutal.

I convinced the nice young man I met on Colvin to join me for the 1.3-mile (each way) out-and-back to Blake, and after easily summiting Blake he was happy I did. We stayed together back to the parking lots.

On my way home, the skies opened up and it’s been pouring ever since.
