Thunderbolt

My new patch is from the 83rd Infantry (the Thunderbolt) which is my grandfather’s division in World War II. Robert Edward Hughes went to Europe in 1944 just after my mother was born, and he carried one of her baby shoes under his cap until he came home in 1946. That’s why in the bronzed set, one of the shoes is a little more ‘worn’ than the other.

Taken with my D3 and 24-70G.
