Porter & Cascade

Last vacation day – after a day off following the summit to Algonquin Peak, we decided to tackle the high peak closest to our rental in Keene. We had already completed Cascade two years ago; since our first time up we were new to hiking (Cascade was our first high peak) we didn’t think to take the side hike to Porter Mountain. This time we did both Porter and Cascade, two peaks in one day. They aren’t far apart – about a mile from Porter’s summit to Cascade’s, as you can see in one of the photos below taken from Porter – and the hiking is pretty straightforward.

Regardless, we ended up with 5 summits in 5 days, and crossed off two more of the 46 high peaks of the Adirondacks.

As of now, we have completed 4 summits of the 46 high peaks: Algonquin (#2), Giant (#12), Cascade (#36) and Porter (#38). 42 to go!

Taken with my Nikon D3 and either the 50/1.4G or 24-70/2.8G lenses.
